an akward state of mind

It appeared to be a man
standing there
in the dark room
surrounded by everything
painted black,
blind and seemingly unaware
of my prescence,
positioned still,
waiting,
until I flick the switch.
But with the sudden brightness
he has fled
and has left only
my vaccuum, drying my shirt.

Sometimes the things that frighten us the most really ARE just an illusion.

I'm hoping so, anyway.

Enjoyed.

Chuckle.  The imagination can really mess with our heads.  This was a fun read.

Knowing someone who was a victim of child abuse this sent chills up and down.

For that person it wasn't a vaccuum.

One night when I was about 12 I was home alone, it was around 3 AM. I had been watching some of those murder mystery forensic documentary things on the Discovery channel. I went to go in the hallway and when I opened the door the air transfer flung two other doors shut, plus we had just bought a motion sensor light for the hallway, so it turned the light on too.
I didn't watch anymore of those forensic shows for awhile!
lol good write. It's scary in the dark!
