Yesterday was a yellow day Filled with passion and simple pleasure And sunshine sparkled from my eyes My soul flowing with priceless treasure My spirits, they sailed upon the breeze My laughter ringing bright And feelings of Yellow covered me In spilling rays of light Bits of song would burst from my lips And my heart was full of play But somewhere between the dark of night And the rise of light this day My yellow slipped and left me with . . . Feelings of blue today An inexplicable sorrow overcomes And tears, as if raindrops lay Heavy behind my clouded eyes And wishes have drifted away Where oh where has my yellow gone? Do not leave me in this crushing hue Paint me your joyful moments divine And lift my spirits anew Please rescue me, sweet yellow dear In your essence pure and bright Ride into my day on your mighty steed Please be my shining knight Do not leave me, dear yellow, with. . . Deep shades of indigo blue S.A.T. The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |

We all have had that day of blue(a just because day).Sadness fills our heart and we want to cry or scream or slam a drawer or two. I say that I'm getting up on the wrong side of the bed.But that is so hard to do since my bed is up against the wall. Hugs BonBon |

I know this indigo, it is the color of my aura, it seems -- always around me somewhere, filtering the light. I hope yours passes. |

Too much time to myself with only the falling rain for company. It washes one in melancholy. I think I need to dream a warmer sun drenched climate. Thanks for commiserating with me. Susan The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |

Susan, it is called manic depressive....manic depression. Most poets have it....many creative people have it. I choose to think myself lucky to have it...I would rather be suicidal somedays than not to be creative. To not be a dreamer/creator would be black death of the slowest kind. I deal with people who cannot see what I see....it is frustrating. I read that depressed people more accurately predict outcomes. Depression enables you to see things morbidly happy people cannot. Robert hehehehe....I bet I didn't cheer you up at all!!! |

Hee, hee, hee, I bet you did! And Ha! You understand all too well. My sister told me the other day that I should love my intense emotions, they make me a good writer. I told her that I would pray then that I never become a great writer, after all, most greater writers end up, well you know. Still, I wonder sometimes if it is truly worth it. Ask me tomorrow, perhaps I will be consumed by yellow then. Smiling now -- Susan The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |

Inkedgoddess I think it is a little of both. Some has to do with chemistry and biology and others with choices we make. By the way, I like my skies blue, but my house is painted yellow. Smiles -- Susan The whole of the Universe resides within each individual heart. |

You are right Susan...many great poets.... yeah ...Anne Sexton closed the garage door and left the engine running, Sylvia Plath put her head in the oven instead of the cake. Thomas drank himself to oblivian and the list goes on. I guess it's the managing of the highs and lows. We have prozac....they didn't. Robert |
