For now,
she only
wants a
kiss on her
cheek, and I
want so much more.
She's the kind
of woman I meet
about every ten years.
The kind I love to adore.
My lips yearn to kiss her lips,
perhaps they will find a way somehow.
Until then, I softly kiss her cheek.
That's enough for now.

Thank you Susan and passing shadows...actually I prefer the kiss on the cheek...while I desire the kiss on the lips...at this point it is a desire...that will come later...much later...James

Ah, a kiss on the cheek,,,,such a sweet begining, leaving so much for the future to grow into,,,and since such a fine lady only comes along in your world once every 10 years or so, you can take the time to enjoy the slow growth...

I didn't look at this as a sad poem. It made me think of a new relationship, very new.. before the first kiss. Enjoying the want and desire of knowing what could lay head.
