Rains turned to light mist And shadows deepened in it’s constant hiss, He stood silent there Swaying with unfelt self deluded wind In wet tangled hair That streaks his creased face to his bony chin. Far thunder murmurs As he falls no longer able to stand On concrete tumbles Blooding knees scuffing skin when roughly lands Turning the pool red Seeping from the pile of rags, bones, and skin. Wide eyed staring head Cracked teeth gap above the bruised stubble chin Thin weak claw of hands Can not even pull his skin covered bones Staying where he lands Weak beyond the ability to moan. Then comes a tapping, one in death colors wrapping With no religious trapping, another old man. In red pool lying, sad fading eyes were spying From his crumbled pile dying, maybe reaper’s man, He leaned on his cane, beside him a black cat came The crumpled must be insane, reaper gave a hand; Extending to depth, just before the final breath And all his existence left, helping him to stand. Steadying the sway, the dark feline led the way Before the breaking of day, leaving shadowed land. Gloom |

Thank you Seymour, You are correct, The reaper is a element of change, not just death, I might add another to these two showing that. I am pleased you enjoyed Gloom |

Professor Gloom -- chilling...... definitely in the Gloom style! Enjoyed and will watch to see if you have a followup as discussed above. Have a good day up there and enjoy that black steed! ![]() |
