This is a little fun song directed at a songwriter friend pen named Dawg. Dawg just brought a little Manx cat home. A manx cat is a domestic cat but is of a breed that has no tail.....Dawg named the little critter Stump and the antics with the new feline in the household inspired this.....Of course there's a certain amount of ambiguity within the theme of this write so innuendos are in there.

Now ol Dawg knew these people who
Had a cat they'd give to someone nice
They owned a farm n claimed the cat's charm
would bring an ol Dawg pure delight

So Dawg decided to bring the cat home
A cute little cuss bred with no tail
His wife Bobbie glad Dawg found a hobby
had never known a little cat to fail

Writing story songs all day long
This Dawg and Cat had to get along
But every time Dawg tried to write a new line
He got a scratch or a bite from the little feline

Under the sofa on the table
You could find the little cat named Stump
Now it became a job for a writing Dawg
To overlook damage that might be done.

But when Dawg's mind cheered cause ideas appeared
Little devil claws would pierce his ears

Leonardo da vinci could paint a tale
St. francis of assisi married some
But story tellin Dawg of prime Tennessee stock
Had a chum with none and couldn't write one

This Dawg and Cat tried to get along
When it came down to it the critter seemed human
But like publishers act when you're tryin to woo'em

Well, the truth comes out in it's own time
A fondness grew for the little demon named stump
And Dawg turned softie even shared his coffee
Cause livin with no tail would anger anyone.

This Dawg and Cat finally got along
Cause it takes a long time for a Dawg an feline
To learn live together in a lifetime.

He he Dawg....the saga of the Manx.....

Ain't doin nothin at all
Just answerin the call
Kinda driftin away from it all~~~~~

Well if he writes his songs on a computer, he must love that cat on his keyboard all day? Good to hear the Dawg and Cat finally are getting along anyway. Cute E.
