I will drink of the most bitter poison
Taste its strength upon my dry and cracked lips
Knowing my mind has lost sense of reason
Still, I would keep taking the damning sips

I would place the blade of the sharpened knife
Upon my breast, the point cold in its cut,
Feel it drain the blood from this useless life
As sight grows dim, these eyes begin to shut

I could drown in depths of oceans endless
To sink in its dark and watery grave
Of falling to sleep in dreams bottomless,
Yet another with crushed hopes to be saved

I would do these things rather willingly
Than suffer ever, you apart from me

Such anguish should never befall a loving heart, so intense and wild is this passion.
Well done.

I can identify with the sacrifice as well, but in reading couldn't help think, do we cause so much pain for ourselves by insisting on having what we know is not good for us...do we consentrate on the happiness of others rather then ourselves...what good would come from having something that isn't right...it would be wrong...and I could not help but think, we are as children acting out, when we cannot have what we want.  This is what your words spoke to me...a great lesson is freeing us of much pain, we so many times cause ourselves.  Good one...very intense and deep.  I loved this.

Thank you for sharing.

I don't have anything else new. I might dip into my archives next, just to keep my name alive.
