![]() Picture by Josephine Wall * * * My words help build a bridge To keep the grief at bay I try to cast aside the images Of the day you passed away It has now been five long years But my heart still feels the pain If I allow my mind to wander My tears fall down like rain My writing keeps me focused It brings me much relief I try hard to stay positive It helps to ward off the grief 'tho visits to your grave Are now only few There's not one day goes by When I don't think of you I miss your sense of humour And your dignity and grace Now the tears well in my eyes And travel slowly down my face Dad, I hope you would be proud Of this person I've come to be I've come out of the shadows And my spirit has been set free * * * "We sat together for what seemed like hours. Our hearts were so finely tuned to one another that we felt no need to speak" I am in motion |

I am sure your dear Dad is applauding you from Above, dear Sue. This is beautiful in its melancholy and intensity. Love, Margherita ![]() |

Sue, Sad to say I finally know exactly what you mean. Dignity and grace beget dignity and grace. You honor him by your life and your writing. He would be pleased. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Sue, I lost my Dad when I was 26. That was a very long time ago....I know what you mean, and you said it in such a loving way. The picture expressed those emotions so very well. ![]() |
