O Father thy throne stands alone. Thy shield and thy sword there beside. Softly my words toil to atone this grief I feel so deep inside. I vow, I say, I do proclaim thy realm I’ll covet till my death. For I, thy seed of given name shalt stand beside till my last breath. Upon yon knoll in shadow cast from mighty oak I glean thy rest. Thy love I’ll hold to me steadfast against my chest,my beating breast O father, my soul hungers within for words from lips now gently closed though neath yon knoll death grips thy skin as birds lie still and quietly dosed. Though thy moon has set my father I shall raise a toast in thy name. For life has given a treasure, being your son, one in the same. |

"Though thy moon has set my father I shall raise a toast in thy name. For life has given a treasure, being your son, one in the same." Oh sure Barry...no kleenex alert on this one I see. But, in remembering my own father's passing, this wonderful piece brought more than one tear to my eyes. Especially love the closing stanza. ~Heart Hugs & Gentle Smiles, Nancy~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always |

I liked all of this but especially liked the lines: "Upon yon knoll in shadow cast from mighty oak I glean thy rest. Thy love I’ll hold to me steadfast against my chest,my beating breast" |

Barry, even tho' ye still be grieving the passing of thy father's corporeal body, I join thee in the celebration of his life. May I join thee in raising a toast in thy father's name for gifting our Passionate world with the treasure of thou? It be said that an acorn falls not far from the tree. Thru' what I have come to know of thee, thy sire must have most assuredly, been a mighty oak. Blessings & Love Eternal, Linda |
