Re-thoughts & Blank Pages

You read like lyrics
written long ago,
from an era
when your pen could flood my pages,

an age when re-thoughts were redundant.

It was easy then,
Every word as it should be...

But voices mature and

Words plead for deeper meaning.

I re-thought you

and me,

and the blank pages between us.

And,
Taking up my own pen,
I filled the emptiness.
