Spun in air a coin believes all power to the free to tail it or to head for more upon this earthly floor. Released from deep depression and seeking intercession hopeful eyes look upward in fear of going backwards. But down to ground like a clown rolling, rolling, round till on the edge it teeters tip tapping out a meter. To love, love not, perhaps, maybe, da–da, da–dum, de-dee and the coin no longer balanced lands in ambivalence. Now the element of air hasn’t run away somewhere and the coin as dead still spins down to the village inn. A drink, a toast, to happiness but all it got was dizziness and the last and fateful coin of life turns to the barman’s wife. A roll again amongst the hay such a nonsensical foray and the coin was up and running In search of better loving Unsteady on two feet of clay it wavered on its merry way singing to the cocks and crows, “Love me nice and love me slow.” But the air up there where roosters stare brought down its wrath on backsides bare and the little coin was left to bleed beneath the shade of tall oak trees. So if you pass this way, my friend, looking for the rainbow’s end no gold or silver will you find for rusted is the coin of life! Oh well, back to the drawing board! |

MCGROVES - Thank you for the read. Martie - Well, it just goes to show that "deep" people aren't always that way. Still a time and place for laughter. Greeneyes - Thanks. Perhaps musical because I never learnt to sing. Time Prophet - Thank you for the compliment and for reading. |
