She stood with her long neck craned behind a child’s rocking horse. Fisher Price plastic horse, best friend gained after death of gander. Inanimate object cream, red, blue Polka dot saddle, remember you. Webbed by lonliness her attachment grew to worldly object saddled marbelized dew. She siddled against it hour upon hour. In the breeze it slightly rocked, In her language it was to it she talked, But never did it answer. It appeared only to listen to her aching squawk. She must have uttered her dreamed flights and muffled flutters, of adventures taken and plans of others. She would have spoken of springing seed and talling weeds of rendezvous on royal steed. Lodged by plastic horse in compromise she squat. Even though her life was broken her plastic prince held all the pieces; With bridled tongue he said not a word But patiently waited beside her until the day she winged. Sadie, this was really good. You have an observant eye -- these are the kinds of things I really miss living in the city. Poor old goose -- makes me sad. ![]() |

Do you remember Gertrude? She was here when your inlaws visited. She was a real pest, lonely, and under their feet! She mourned for months. Actually, she didn't fly away and was almost dying of heartbreak. We took her to the local horsefarm so she could associate with the wild geese there. It took her a while to gain acceptance there, but I believe she finally did... |

passing shadows, The years of the pony have passed so quickly, haven't they? It's good to hear from you again. Take care, Dixie. Sadie Professor, I'm glad you enjoyed the portrayal. The mismatched love of that silly goose has haunted me for years, asking for a poem to be written. I suppose finally the time was right. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I always look forward to your response. Sadie [This message has been edited by Sadelite (05-10-2004 12:33 PM).] |

Sunshine, You give me thought to ponder. What one object would I have had grow with me? Hm.A topic in itself! Thank you for your thoughtful response. Sadie |
