Two Hearts, In Time The match had been there, once, for it had sparked (he had admired it in her eyes) then flared (they both had felt the heat) then burned, steadily, long enough to light a candle that would illuminate time… Over the years, she would replace the candle anew, borrowing from the flame of time, then hold it high, to see if he would return to the ways that had started them on the path of together. She would stand alone, by the window, overlooking a moonless bay, his candle’s light behind her, enlightening beliefs laying deep within her soul and she strove to write of moments gone awry, searching her heart to repair what had been torn asunder, hoping to again find a path that would bring him home to her… to again entwine his heart with hers, in time. It was when the windows opened one night, from a gust of wind, extinguishing candle’s flame, that she lay down her pen, and knew he was gone. But her spirit lived on, a force so persistent, she knew it was time to light a new match, start a new flame, even if it were to be a solitary light, still it would carry her love, of life. A new chapter and verse of a life lived in pursuit of a dream not yet dead, would be hers, alone. |

"it was time to light a new match, start a new flame, even if it were to be a solitary light, still it would carry her love, of life." Such an eloquent way of saying, 'I carry on' |

“She would stand alone, by the window, overlooking a moonless bay, his candle’s light behind her, enlightening beliefs laying deep within her soul” “It was when the windows opened one night, from a gust of wind, extinguishing candle’s flame,” “But her spirit lived on, a force so persistent, she knew it was time to light a new match, start a new flame, even if it were to be a solitary light, still it would carry her love, of life.” Wonderful imagery here Karilea Yes, a new match, a new flame, a new life... “even if it were to be a solitary light, still it would carry her love, of life.” Very Very Nice! |
