Sparkling Light and Sound brilliant February sunlight a breeze a notch above gentle air a bit lower than cool seeps through the gaps in the aged weatherstripping with it it brings tinkling of the wind chimes despite the chilled air intermittently wrapping my limbs the sounds conjure visions of the ice cream man singing joy to the taste buds smiles to child-like faces of many ages summer its beginning only slightly closer than its end its passing tinkling chimes tickle my fancy buoy my spirit for just a little while ©February 10, 2004 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

light and musical... but this one intrigued me: "summer its beginning only slightly closer than its end" why? |

Thank you all, and J.Samm, its beginning only slightly closer than its end...because it is February, June is the official beginning of summer, September was its end...Oct,Nov, Dec, Jan., then February March April May June, it seems that our next summer for the northern hemisphere is only slightly closer than the end of last summer. The warmer days that are beginning make summer feel like its closer to arriving than the memory and warmth of its passing. Does this make sense? Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

the sounds conjure visions of the ice cream man singing joy to the taste buds smiles to child-like faces of many ages smiles, so gentle and free spirited this seemed. Lovely |

VAS, I liked this poem. Particularly, "tinkling chimes tickle my fancy buoy my spirit for just a little while" Hope that little while stays a little longer! |
