The birds in snowlight peer through wire-sculpted trees in search of Cygnus. |

passing shadows, I love to watch the constellations, and Cygnus is one of my favorite, flying northward. Can't wait for warmer days! Take care and thanks for the read and compliment. Sadie |

I love to gaze at the stars too! This is a very beautiful haiku, the seasonal element is present in "snowlight" I would say. The second line holds actually six syllables. Perfection would be seven, but the rules are not to be taken so rigidly. I love it. Love, Margherita |

LngJhn, You surely can try good buddy, if I get a chance to respond to your response, too! Eggs from cuckoo's nest drop lightly in threes from trees being slightly cracked. Sadelite (Thanks for humoring me!) |

Toerag, Are you saying that my poetry flows like brandy distilled from the whitest whines? You guys are goofy, ya know. That's ok...sppirits are nice once in a while aren't they? Sadelite Margherita, Thanks for stopping by and sharing your love of the night sky with me. About your comment--appreciated it, and I double checked my dictionary about the number of syllables in the words in the second line. It seemed ok, but perhaps there could be some colloquial differences in the pronunciation of -ed (I'm not sure to which word you're referring). Thanks for telling me(I did find a counting mistake in a posted senryu last week--how embarrassing. Thankfully, I caught it before too many people read it!) |

gary's girl, I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ethel. I always enjoy reading your lovely thoughts, too. Sadelite Sunshine, Thank you for clarifying that; I always get confused about how to tell whether I've written a true haiku. I thought it was, but wasn't sure. Thanks again for your positive comment. Sadelite Seymour, Thanks for checking this one out-I'm glad it was enjoyable to you. Sadelite Rdz, "Short, sweet and much enjoyed!" I like that! Thank you for your short, sweet, and much enjoyed comment! Sadelite |

Sure, Lng Jhn, I hear you... I think you might have confused things just a bit, though. I was certain that all three had a slight crack... Have a good one... Sadelite iliana, So you liked... All that star gazing paid off didn't it! Sadie |

I loved this. I had to read it when I saw the title. The first Valentine's Day I spent with my husband, I named a star for the two of us...as luck would have it, it's in the Cygnus constellation. |
