A Walk In Waning Gibbous Could I walk now, this inadequate moon gone flat as stale beer on one side, that irritating stage of not full not half? Walk now, when it’s still too bright to dodge cops over in Mile Square Park, too dim to make the street lights pointless and show me an owl or a city coyote bumming in the night on land he used to own? Could I walk now, knowing I’d be bored with it, isolated when I thought to be alone, seeing too well to think about night vision or fantasize a hunt? Walk now, knowing it would mean strolling like noon without noon décor, moon without moon décor, but seeing all too clear how the dog’s legs lunge just before he hits the end of the chain? I’ve missed the full by nights; could I walk now? I may as well, I’m already out there. |

Ok. I learned something about "Waning Gibbeous moon" and I also learned that the moon affects us always in our moods. Moody write, well rendered! Love, Margherita ![]() |

Ed....A forlorn feeling in this. Good paint of emotion by just showing us outside, you show us inside...you do that so well! ![]() |

Could I walk now, this inadequate moon gone flat as stale beer on one side, that irritating stage of not full not half? Both image and mood grabbed immediately... even knowing the journey might prove unsettling and unsatisfying, I wanted to walk every step. *S* but seeing all too clear how the dog’s legs lunge just before he hits the end of the chain? I’ve missed the full by nights; could I walk now? You miss nothing, my friend... and you help us see with new eyes... This does leave a feel of melancholy... but it's written magnificently. |

RatL -- The nice thing about the moon, is that it never remains in one phase too long! Very nice writing -- enjoyed! [This message has been edited by iliana (02-11-2004 01:57 PM).] |

RatL. Loved it. Especially grabbed me with "Could I walk now, this inadequate moon gone flat as stale beer on one side, that irritating stage of not full not half?" "Walk now, knowing it would mean strolling like noon without noon décor, moon without moon décor, but seeing all too clear how the dog’s legs lunge just before he hits the end of the chain?" Take care, Sadelite |
