Lunar Solitude by Al Hogue

*

I found you waiting
under the pine trees.
The full moon hung
in their branches
like a silent spectator.
I pointed to it
in awe of its beauty.
Distractedly you took
the scenery in.
Then you smiled
and shouted into the night
that your favourite sight
was my heart
displayed in my eyes.
Traffic’s noise suddenly faded
and we heard the moon’s
whispers from above.
Through our laughter we released
all the tensions of the day
and just enjoyed our love.
It must have been the moon
playing the trick
but it was just fun
to realize that we were dancing
far away in a magical realm.

*

Love, Margherita

This was such a comfortable read, I felt myself blending into the scene.  You transported me under the moonlit tree. This is beautifully written!  Thank you.
