Pray to any Gods you fear And any you might love Make your peace my son To anything or one above Swords twist and turn Like souls on candlewicks Tonight we make our move Across the River Styx I was there in 38 No English Lies No American Hate I was there in 39 No Corporate War It'll be just fine Millions of Jews Could have been saved instead you sat back smiled and waved Pacifists thru out time you find them there waving their sign Find me buried in the Ukraine Come talk to me I know your name Drums around the fire call Like heartbeats deep in hell Call us to a regal death Welcome it and just as well As living on this earth Digging for our new grave Laughing each and everyday The little lights of love Seem to quickly fade away |

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke) Well, that's the first thing that came to mind for me, anyhow. This has lyrical quality and the tone of a protest folk song. I "dug" it. |

Wintertao I am a bit confused here... Am I wrong, or are you not a pacifist advocate at all? Are the people crossing the river into hell, war protesters, or are they members of an army? and here: "Millions of Jews Could have been saved instead you sat back smiled and waved Pacifists thru out time you find them there waving their sign" It seems you are blaming pacifists for the U.S. not entering the war earlier and saving millions of Jews? "Find me buried in the Ukraine Come talk to me I know your name" A dead soldier that is still angry? The end stanza seems to bring the poem up to date "Digging for our new grave" I did enjoy reading this, being a pacifists myself, the title drew my attention...maybe I am just having a "duh" day... _______ice ><> |

(big angel hugs) And tis is exactly ehat's wrong with today too, dearest friend, the many pacifists who believe in the true nature of peace aren't giving it all they have and that is how those warmongers in the administration are getting away with the cowardice and tyranny! (sad sigh) This is so very powerful, sweet friend, I continue to march for peace, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |
