Great splashes of herbs;
Verdigris twigs,
Foaming verdant at the feet
Of olive waves,
Climbing hill sides, after
Winter-long retreat.
*
Cloud shades,
Shadow hill-tops
Of jade-swells rising
From chartreuse pillows
Cased in emeralds,
On beds of golden green.
*
(I question)
Why
This ebbing art,
Of wide stretching
Seas, paints such
Romantic value,
(Like marriage rings
Of gilded gold)
On the mortal canvas,
Of my brain and soul?

Very much enjoyed this morning read Ford.
I would question the same thing as well.

because you are married to the vintage of nature, perception, and the conscienceness of human nature....lovely write!

Hi ice,
perfectly titled and perfectly
ended. Your Whimanesque attitude
comes thru in this one!
Enjoyable read!

Enjoyed this much ice.. much to ponder.

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments..
The hills here are about to turn green, this poem was written in early May of last year, I am waiting the arrival of the greens, to me the various shades of them are as beautiful as flowers..
Again, thank you all for your replies
