no cocking of breech or report of rifles sounding only Taps of keys as each stroke and letter entombs in syllables a thought frozen dead and brittle what was once a malleable living rumination perhaps they are creation or excretion but under a new eye they may smelt in exegesis or lay in state still if merely understood and not occupied |
