Our meeting was predestined…I always knew
And what surprised my heart the most still shines through
Such issues that remain the lash of pain too deep to utter
Seemed to draw my hand and bring forth light in silent stutter
And I moved closer…perchance too close, too fast
I tried the break yet hit the gas…because you wept
The dreams we share become more real and follow through
All that I feel
The burn is more sacred than a sharing of flesh alone
Or fresher than each morning that we seem to own
I have spent more time knowing every curve and quake of you
And most exciting when I finally do, it will be all brand new
Discovery to the fullest apex of a spirit that fills me up
You are the finest Chardonnay within my loving cup
My breath of spring and all the wealth of fall
To carry to some other time, yet I’m without my shawl
And all I know
Is the print upon me where you will always glow
The truth is told, I am not bold or hard…too tender for your
Least regard…and you may not allow yourself to see
The beauty of the man that echoes so in me
But when I find my way to look into your eyes and say
What bubbles in my heart and causes fuse this way
The home we build albeit fact or dreams in us
Will hold your heart and hat, as cloaks superfluous
