where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2004-04-12 12:54 PM

Blind, in search of you..
I can't see the season wither.

Back when the days were less bleak,
you could tell by
my chewed nails that I'd been thinking
about ghosts..
The death made me shiver, and
you were no more warm but
I could accept it.. I could
find a
home in you...
..as haunted as it may be.

I will admit, I
borrowed time from you and
wasted it.
I painted your garden
and I destroyed it.
Everything I touch
drawls with sin..
everything
grows old much quicker,
and I felt no guilt until
I noticed ..
that the wind was no longer blowing,
the trees were not growing,
and the stench of nevermore
came creeping up my spine..
you were not there to warm me colder,
and there was no more time..

god, help me, I could not remember that
my inflictions may cause pain..

sugar trails but the ground is no longer sweet,
I've been
thinking
about ghosts...about honey and
fireflies
mixing light and syrup-like consistancy
to drown all I pass and
my sins will not be forgiven this time,
I can't redeem myself.

I will never comfort you in fear,
no longer will I hydrate you with
soullessy cried tears..
You would not remember, anyway..
so I
will let you die today..

I've been thinking about
ghosts..

Reminds me of the curse of Midas...

and yes, I, too, feel that I'm contagiously,

fatally flawed...

You "wow" me.

interesting. a lament and aplogy, but not nearly unselfish and selfpitying. this will stay with me.

Deeply soulful writing -- don't be so hard on yourself.  What a gift your poetry is!

You are in a poetic league of your own, m'dear! I read each one of your poems at least twice! I couldn't possibly absorb it all with just one read! There is so much to ponder and appreciate!

blind in search of you,
the haunting remains knawing beneath at the empty ache
you tell it well

I was compelled to read this several times,
each time finding more...  Excellently expressed.
