Sweet Light of Life

Sweet Light,
above all,
let me be your moon.

Let me reflect Your love
morning,
night and noon.

And if there
be a need for peace
in the life of someone near,

help me to reflect
a calm
of serenity that’s clear.

I do not possess
the power
that inhabits Your Son,

yet let me display
an inkling
that He is number one.

Should my eyes sparkle
with a delight
easy to behold,

assure all the witnesses
it’s because
I’m in the fold.

May the delight
that’s in my life
and the prayers on my lips

be inspired by
Your perfect love
and seen as Your wondrous gift.

VAS, your write proves that the gift of love and talent to write were special gifts from God to you.

I enjoyed your poem very much. It is a prayer in poetic form, and so beautiful and touching.
