walking the surreal

I am restless
My soul wishing to wander
To find different worlds
Pathways leading yonder

Each day, it reads the same
Awake until slumber
My mind wishes for a different tale
Its directions without number

Take me to the moon above
A land upon a distant planet
Fly me around the blazing sun
Then to a galaxy far beyond it

Sprinkle my days with pixie dust
Morphing the world to fantasy
Where fairies fly and magic’s real
And fair mysteries await discovery

Let’s hie off to ancient lands
Lost cities from ages worn
And delve to where no man has walked
History long forgotten and forlorn

Leave behind this world of known
Of daily toil and care
Come with me to worlds beyond
And let’s linger awhile there.

Thanks for the encouraging words.  I've got the car ready and revved . . . where to?

Susan,
The poem was inviting and the last stanza
seemed to say....what are we waiting for!
Love the title and the word!
Keep keeping poetry alive,
