beggar's meal spread
o'er mahogany & silver
goblets of gold run empty of wine
silk & lace burned ashes when touched
longed for kisses untasted when found
dance hall filled with shadows of yester
voices echoing some unknown past
two broken hearts decked out fine & formal
sit down to partake disillusion's repast

This instantly took me back to "The Haunted Mansion" at Disneyland...

Wonderful Tiersden, I've missed reading you.
It's good to see you.
