The Promise Though time and distance may keep us apart And new adventures might call you away, The love deep within will strengthen my heart, Calming and guiding me through every day. So wipe away the tears that you have cried, Our love is something time cannot divide. I promise And if the hands of time would bring deceit, Persuading me that you've been gone too long. I hope you know my love would not retreat. The visions of tomorrow keep me strong. So wipe away the tears that you have cried, Our love is something time cannot divide. I promise But if you end up leaving me behind To search for lessons you have yet to learn, Don't ever think that I would change my mind. I'll wait with open arms for your return. Darker Season, I pause to render a comment befitting thisbeauty. Ok. It's hard to take risks, unknowing of what the future will bring. If this was written for someone, you have given that person a tremendous gift to ease the distance. (You gave us one by sharing it!) Sadie |
