The green age woke pregnant
Unaware the horned God had laid with it,
Through sleep filled eves of  winter.
*
Rise Ertha, press of  frost
Has been relieved
From your maternal cloths,
Your body heaved
As Aprils water broke;
And now a closer sun
Smoothes out
All wrinkles and wet pleats....
*
Branches, bare (mute is air)
Until the baby spring arrives,
Cooing poems with lines
That stir the naked twigs
To bloom and leafy dress;
And call the birds, with ancient songs
From south to north to nest .
*
All in the choir sing hosannas,
Trees and birds, myself and beasts
Raise our voices to the Goddess,
That allows us, suckle on her manna's.
