is it possible to delight you
in the rattle of a barbed-wired
night?
where desire lingers in
sweep of street

your eyes bewitch in flick of lid
with the corners of your lips
turned up
wide
                stirring me

the sky is arrogant
flowers crown your head
in a silent climb of vine

and

in wires pull…

you’re as succulent as
the berry tree in spring

I recently wrote of my daughter, talking about how compelling the truly beautiful are when they don't realize their own beauty...

oh m'lovely, that is you too...

Maree,

Still all this time after reading you,
I'm left in awe...beautiful writing,
full of so much of you that I've come
to love...

and

in wires pull…

you’re as succulent as
the berry tree in spring

This is definitely one of the coolest
lines I've ever read! It's so good to
see you again.

Take care,
Amy
