He didn’t even ask me He just took me by the hand. He didn’t even tell me What it was that he had planned. As we walked along together One aware and one confused, I couldn’t help but wonder Why he looked so darn amused. He said nothing, on the journey Not one word to help me see Leaving me to try to figure What was happening to me. Several times blindly stumbled Falling squarely on my face, He just shrugged and waited for me To get up and take my place. I know, he knew the answers I could see it in his eyes. But never did he tell me He just left it to surprise. So on and on and on we went, Me fumbling, like a fool And him just up ahead of me Looking bored but cool. I wish he would have warned me Before it was too late, That he wasn’t there to help me But to guide me to my fate. I might have done it better If I’d have only known That even though he was with me I was really on my own. www.InnerCirclePublishing.com |

it's strange how one can be with someone and be alone too, huh? |
