Realms of Light

+*+*+*+*+*+
There's a chill in my bones,
It runs deep within the marrow,
I'm blue and I'm trembling,
As I plod the straight and narrow.

The guiding stars have fallen,
The moon has lost its way,
The sun has simply disappeared,
And lights not up the day.

There are no laughing children,
No music to my ears,
Just the sound of weeping
My sad and soulful tears.

The birdies have flown away,
All the butterflies have died,
The oceans have ebbed away,
With outgoing tide.

The trees have lost their foliage,
Flowers have no blooms,
As I roam my life's lonely house,
Filled with empty rooms.
+*+*+*+*+*+

Note: Just poetry folks!

Oh my, Linda, you had me worried!
But how true this is sometimes, when we are moving through dark moments!
Great write.

And, Seymour, great answer! You made me smile.

Love and hugs.

EA,

Enjoyed, I often write without it being a personal experience as well. Poetry is wonderful in that it does let us expand and use our emotions, experienced or not, to tell a tale or a poetic novel. I really like your ability to excerise this. Nice!

I found your poem quite insightful and filled with truth of feeling for one who has not experienced the void of depression.
