sensory malfunction

Things i take to numb the pain
I shouldnt take during the day
En-nerved by the busy street
my expresion shows a blank sheet

Pulse raising, eyes wide
My nautiousness i tried to hide
The sounds, the sites, the things i feel
Its hard to tell if they are real

I struggle to speed to my escape
I feel my mouth begin to gape
The passers by become a haze
Im sure they'll see my gaping gaze

Back to work i sorely go
I really hope my boss wont know
These things i take to numb the pain
afraid to see that day again
