Waking in His Dream

Light
of a season
could not keep
winter white
from losing its appeal
long before
the first hard freeze
or flurried flake

Though I heard the howl
through barren branch,
and saw frost upon
the withering green

I heeded not
what could be seen with sensibility
even as the chill of reality
filled the air
I dared
to hold the hand
of a summer’s promise

Still now
as five o’clock darkness
brings dreams of warmth
beneath a colorless quilt
of convictions

I hibernate
in my hideaway
slumbering in comfortable disconnect
Wrapped only in the thought
of waking in his dream.

I really liked this verse and how it fit so right with your title.

I heeded not
what could be seen with sensibility
even as the chill of reality
filled the air
I dared
to hold the hand
of a summer’s promise

This is such a lovely poem Patricia~
I enjoyed every word!!

(smiles) Hibernate in the winter where you can store the warmth of your heart true and then when the spring draws in, escape and let your dream be animated! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is a beautiful dreamscape of your own, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Patricia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Patricia - excellent write. Takes me through the cold of ice, and the warmth of waking in another's dream. Like this much...
