The world may walk at a quiet pace,
when it chooses,
sharing time with refugee souls
like candy thrown to war's children;
so may the eagle soar and the lion stroll
all with equal regal bearing.
The speed of life loses value
when intent's honesty
is not judged against the load carried;
to want may help to narrow choice,
and yet
the cracking voice may spend demands
as leaves will scatter 'cross the lands
on winds grown old beyond caring.

profound thoughts m'friend
and sometimes we are all too silent
and too willing to accept the load
which is often bogus

enjoyed the way this one travelled through my grey matter

Thank you both for your time and comments.  I think perhaps I need a great deal more sleep.

I'll split the rest of my JB with you...a short term fix, but tasty! You likely right though, for this there may be no cure at all, or a cure as bad as the malaise.

Your words carry so much weight icebox~
The depth of your insight is remarkable,
and I applaud you whole heartily!!

Thank you all for your time in reading my poem and for sharing your thoughts.  There is no way to over state how much I value the effort and the input.

I salute you all.
