Mournfully the soul sighs
as a beating heart senses not
the rhythm as death travels
so close to me.

Why, I ask...must a soul depart
the linger of life, so swiftly in
a nights gleaming, as stars above
shimmered quietly and occasionally,
just occasionally one fell...
Was that you?

My mentor, my sage, my confidant
and above all....my father...

Oh father, how the ache dwells as
the voice once heard dies softly
against the rugged cliff walls as the
echo of yesterday calls....

Blank, the shimmer of eyes so blue, now
hidden beneath death’s shroud.  Resting
now, awaiting a calling....

I stand proudly my father, for words have
slipped the lips in praise, words have
fallen on the ears of those who also praise
the memory of a gallant soul....

I shall not ever forget you,   nor cease
loving the man that I knew, who breathed
life into this man ages ago....as though
it were just a night’s moment, that moment
so near yet far far away....

Barry

Sometimes there just are no words that are the right words....so offering a hug instead to let you know I understand this so very well.

In thoughts they live on ...

... in words they are truly shared.

Its an honor to share such thoughts with you, Barry.

Hi Barry...this is so sad. It took the words I had.
