we hurt each other, you and me
in places that the world can't see.
hearts of steel, worn with time
make good weapons
you should know...

and i wish everyone here would put on their matching backwards white jackets,
and run around beating each other
with unstrung tennis rackets.
and stop speaking to each other
in parenthesis and brackets,
because the world is secret enough.
it's no secret, this world is so rough.

i don't see why people think God is a steeple.
no, don't you see? God's in the people.
so love each other and treat each other well,
because dust to dust was never the case.
this life is worth much more than we can suppose.

our self-inflicted wounds will heal,
but others leave scars.
i don't see the point of massochism
if the point is just to get hurt.
that happens enough just living your life.
i don't see the point of beating your wife
if the point is just to hurt.
that happens enough in your words, in your silence.

but those are secrets too.
they say it's a secret place, the world of tears.
and if you can never know my pain,
which you can thank your lucky stars for,
then you will never know my happiness.
my lucky stars told me that
they come as a package deal.

you know, some people are born and die
like they're clocking in and clocking out
for one long day...
they are the job, and they live as such
and they're always in one big damn rush.

which makes me wonder what is so wrong with this world in the first place that we should all have to be so bored?
i beg of you, please shoot me
if i start living in fast forward.

amen.

joy has its own justice. and dreams are languid and lawless. and everything bows to beauty, when it's fierce and when it's flawless...

if i start living in fast forward.
Yeah I'm trying to slow myself down...

Wonderful MTW as always

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

I truly hope I never get to the point where I'm just trying to get it over with.  I like this one, it flows well.
