When words do not speak feelings that you want so much to share When walls build deep inside you and they just keep growing there When days are long and mind does need to cleans and vent the day The pen can just begin to write and take the strain away We delve within our inner selves and question what we feel To then return to what is real and cards that life does deal What brings one to a vision they can see and understand? What makes one fly on joyous wings and know just where to land? Life’s filled with all frustrations, and who does really know Just where their fate might bring them, and just which way to go Can we find the strength to be who really lies within? Can the years of holding back reveal where to begin? We’re pawns who play the game of life, with hope to be a King We’re people searching for the move, but seeing not a thing Dreamers with a vision but not the time to see Prisoners of the day and night, just dreaming to be free The pen again is speaking in the language of the heart That once again has cleansed the soul and helped my day to start The key has turned a little in the door that shows the way Inside I’m slowly waking, though I'm opting still to stay |
