Sunshine, You could not have flattered me more. I don't feel like a good poetess, just one who's reaching to understand. Thank you. Your words mean more than you'll ever know. Thank you. Sadie Martie, The image was just outside my door for the taking. I can't take credit. I'll give it to my kids for NOT RAKING the leaves last fall. Now they'll have to rake among the oil-wet leaves glued to the earth floor AND the dusty little chips! While I'm doling out credit, I must admit that Professor Gloom's poem, "The Darkness of Death" got me thinking-they always do. Thanks for your comment, Martie. Toerag, "Nah. If I raked them, you'd probably end up jumping in them, throwing up leaves" (hm... better re-phrase this, Sadie. Think about who you're writing to...) "and then write about it." "Sorry, Toerag. I've got to wash my hair. For six months? Oh, yes. I have leaf dust in it from the last raking! You are on your own. I have a couple of rakes to lend if you need them. They've been hardly used... " BTW, thanks for commenting. |

This was gorgeous. I liked all the many spring-like words you used; e.g., hatched. |

iliana, Thanks for your sweet comment. I gave the verb quite a bit of thought. Sadie inkgoddess, I don't know about that--the opening buds are very pretty! Thank you for your kindness. Sadie Paul, I'm glad you thought it was very, very cool, Paul. I had to do some turn-around thinking to see these brown, crunchy leaves as a member of Spring. Then I thought about their changing, crisp texure and how they, too, cracked open like an egg. Silly thinking that led me to deeper thoughts... Thank you for your interest and positive comments toward this. Sadie |
