The phone rings Your name flashes We haven't spoken in nearly a day This rarely happens Now I smile You buy me lunch We talk, we laugh You mention her name My heart dies But still I smile You tell me your stories I give my thoughts too My mind screams in protest You ask how I am And I smile I smile because I have no choice I smile since you're my best friend I smile in fear of losing you I'm grateful for all that we have Although love we will never share |

Nicely written, though learn to love as a friend and seek a lover elsewhere, if the above is true, or ultimately lose them both; or, redouble your efforts, make sure he's aware who and what you are, your feelings, your desires - fight for him ... take the chance, but be willing to accept whatever it brings, and move on, if necessary. The rewards Could be wonderful. jwesley |

Thanks jwesley! The advice is much appreciated. Love him as a friend I certainly do, and only every once in awhile do these overwhelming feelings for him surface. He's my best friend though, so he knows I like him as does everyone else. My friends have called me on it, he has called me on it, and I've told him before. It's more complex that just that, but I think he knows he could have me in a heartbeat if he wanted to so if we ever become something more it will be after his move. Thanks again!
