Listening to every heart

0 posted 2004-03-23 01:30 PM

The Joining

It’s a deep and residing
Internal throbbing,
When a poet is museless,
No pondering, no wandering, a
Quagmire of quandary,

Where thoughts are amiss
But rambling strife rampant,
Knowing you want to go ~ somewhere ~
Not knowing where it might lead,
Or even why one would take
That road…

                        Yet, that road is taken,
In search of what’s missing inside,
                        To where spirits are held
                        Traveling in thoughts on tides

Floating into the heart of dreams
To rest in that special ~someplace~
Where a soul can find peace
And even a muse can find sweet release...

Perhaps it’s a ying and yang ideal
Half of me in search of muse,
Half of muse, in search
Of me?

Possibly, quite possibly…

Does she follow in my footsteps,
Or am I in search of her?
Would he know me by my touch,
Or does he rest,
Quite assured, that I might stumble
And in my plummet,
Be lifted by my muse’s arms
Ascend to highest summit…

                        Reaching for a plateau
                        Where poet and muse become
                        As one,
                        A subtle realization
                        That this journey together
                        Has just begun....

Oh, does she read my secret thoughts,
Does he feel all that I hold inside?
We shall walk this path together
                        ~Searching~
                        Muse and poet...
                        Side by side.

Muse, my muse, abide with me,
Step by step into destiny,
Whether we walk, or fly,
Shine, or cry,
Muse, my muse, please, abide with me.

~*~

I am honoured to have read this

It is something that leaves a brain print with the words somehow hidden to appear

A duet...even a year old...holds a lot of magic, my friends.  Donna and I discussed this today; neither of us can remember what the other one wrote.  To me?  That is the highest compliment...that our thoughts/voices blend that well.

Thank you, all of you, some of you for re-reading; some of you, for the first time.

I love digging in the archives...

This is a lovely phrasing of that which we all seek, to have this rascal that moves us be available upon demand.  Ken

I want to thank everyone for joining in the memory from last year and for leaving your thoughts and replies.  Writing with Karilea
is a gift, if you've ever the chance to do that you are in for a treat.
Karilea, I am glad that this still touches you as much as it does me.  Hugs, and again thank you for such a wonderful duet.
