Listening to Mr Cash's words help's you unlimbered

The Drunk was me and written years ago and I need to remember

Dave
************************************************

Imagining he hold's the world is his hand but forgets to close the hand that feeds him

Imagining every word is prose not rubbish
Seeing the world through nothing

Sorry for himself
Achieving oblivion
Squandering any gifts
For the tears he shed's too easily

For his dreams that he fear's might happen

Sobbing is his beer
For everyone else's mistakes
His glorious ideas
That might be achieved

He remember's only that others stopped him
Drunk with ideas and failure

He drinks to prove his successes
To blame others

For their honesty
Until maybe he realises

That the problem is his

Not others

Listening to every heart

It's a talented artist that takes the music
and tells a story to it...one that the listener feels is just for them.  I have a few "older" writers/singers who do that for me, and as I listen to them, knowing I first heard them 10, 20, 30 [and more] years ago...

I am surprised at how my senses swift run me back to that time...

I like this Dave.  It speaks to me.  Thank you.

it is so ironic how we can mentally excuse every wrong we do, and actually convince ourselves, that what we're doing is everyone and everythings fault but ours...there were times, a long long time ago...when I lived every word you speak of...and look to where we've come...ain't life something?

David, this was awesome...I really really liked!

Indeed his words touched many lives and still do.  One of his last songs "Hurt" is probably one of his greatest acheivements ever.  He is sorely missed.  Your words capture life well.
