Up to the surface
my submerged tears of grief and disbelief
Feel like I’m treading water again
gasping, breathless with fears
I want you here
please don’t come near
I don’t want to see your face
Your eyes
like spies
between the waves
crashing, crashing
shattered

Oh yes, I know how the story goes
One of us calls
the other one rows
Was that your voice?
Did you just say...
No!  I don’t want to hear!
Plunge you down to the murky depths
and pray to my sweet ocean tide
please come in and flood the gate
please flood in
and drown him
out

Why do you haunt me
You came to taunt me
Why don’t you just disappear
I am the coin
at the edge of the well
Pick me up and let me go
Drop me in
and make a wish this time
You’ve got nothing
left
to lose.

Noooooooo! You will not drown! I am sending you a life preserver! Hang on! This "angel" is on her way! Starting a new life is never easy, but that which is worth having, never is, Dear K. Keep strong! Hang on! You have been doing soooo well!

This poem is so full of emotion and passion. I can imagine these words just flowed straight from your heart and soul with nary an edit! Indeed, every cloud does have a silver lining! Out of pain comes poetic gain!

Loving, comforting, healing hugs,
EA

sighs.

and then we both sink like a stone...

Nicely done, Kahlil.

Thank you so much, all of you.  You're my witnesses in letting go...I don't think it will take much longer...And I'm so glad to be here with you...

Wonderfully Done

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.
