Yesterday's Shadows Ashen shadowy-limbs hasten nimbly over the once green hoarfrost-brittle yard, then stagger into glacial furrows in conspicuous stable yard hogback lanes. Watch them clamber to their feet so they might ascend the distant knoll and close their day. Cleaving to Noachian clapboards on bleached-walled buildings; they're perpetually seeking the picturesque leaves which once they wore in the remembered Shangri-La's of last summer's penumbra. Retrospection oft partially eclipses the psyche. Permanently forfeited those leaves stay, but in the delicate model of love, they're engraved ephemerally in the lustrous timberlands and crystalline snow. Yesterday's shadows birth a delightful portrait for my remembering spirit. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |
