What does it take
to feel the touch of once
to know its truth
beyond yesterday?

Where is the bond
that fields the unconditional
that rises to each occasion
when the scent is in the wind?

Why must one wonder
imagining the worst
when left to answer
the unanswerable?

I deceive myself
into believing in
what is beyond my control.

As usual your poem is very good. I did however stumble in the first stanza on the word "once."

I guess we all have those weak moments Maureen....Fear of the unknown strikes a chord in all of us but then the mystery of some of it is food for poetic thought....I thought you did that very well here.
