I join my breath to wind as through the trees it blows,
the whispers that you hear the voice of my soul
soft and gentle, barely there, perhaps a memory
skirting round the outskirts of a distracted mind.

As leaves dance and wave, sometimes even laugh,
I settle on the branches the outline of my heart
firm and bold, steady, sure, transparently a-waiting
the hand of an artist to paint it vibrant red.

There between the trees, maybe shadows, maybe me,
but perceived reality makes of life a mockery
for body parts un-evolved grant only shallow sight
and deaf are our ears to the song of spirit love.

And so we must stay, know the wind cannot speak
or shadows move enticingly like lovers, you and me,
and on that basis who can say how permanent is love
when winter comes around and the leaves fall to ground?

The whispers of a soul and the emotion of a heart -
if we could hear and feel, no unhappiness would part
the true immortal joining of a woman’s inner grace
to the strength and honour of a gentle man!

Helen

This is really well presented.

I found this inspiring...
"There between the trees, maybe shadows, maybe me,
but perceived reality makes of life a mockery
for body parts un-evolved grant only shallow sight
and deaf are our ears to the song of spirit love"

Too true sometimes.....Good work!

Dear Bluesy, Thank you for your gracious reply.  I hope there are many more like you out there in the big wide world because I'm putting a book together.  Wish me luck!  All is well here - unemployed or perhaps retired.  Not sure which just yet.

Thank you Eric, I'm glad you found my words inspiring.  Maybe you'll check out those shadows between the trees sometime.

Such a pretty piece...
The reality of the leaves and wind joined with breath...
Excellent.

Hello Dave - Thank you for that wonderful compliment!  I never think of myself as being talented so your reply is somewhat of a surprise.  Thank you.

Sea_of_okc -  To be regarded as a "gentle man" is more of an honour than most men can fathom.  Thank you for reading and for commeting!

And TD - thank you too!  Your comment is much appreciated.
