~*~ Where the river crosses these days is a long way off but I still go there now and then and take a walk along the edge. Thinking about the way it used to be once upon a time before we parceled out our dreams that sold for cheap back then. When I go there I don't stay for long I just watch the water running over rapids skipping a few stones and think about where I'm gonna head out next. 'Cause the way I see it it's not much use trying to keep up when you're closing in on the end but it don't matter much to me the way it used to. I'm just happy to have made my peace cause that's something I can take with me Lord knows I can't keep trying to rope in a promise that I have no business messing with. So I reckon I'll switch back before the sun goes down on me maybe tie my heart to a tumbleweed and let it go. ~*~ |

"'Cause the way I see it it's not much use trying to keep up when you're closing in on the end but it don't matter much to me the way it used to." "So I reckon I'll switch back before the sun goes down on me maybe tie my heart to a tumbleweed and let it go." I like this "voice" of yours Bluesy!! You only write in it now and then, but I've enjoyed it each time. Wasn't it Charlotte once?? Wouldn't mind reading this style from you more often... Okay...It was Clementine, I was close. Lori Poems like these are mysterious, and that is a good thing.. In them there are secrets enticingly, nearly revealed. What becomes visible Is the aura of melancholy feelings, Using a river to float the theme is perfect enjoyed _________ice ><> |

^*-*^*-*^*-*^*-*^*-*^ "maybe tie my heart to a tumbleweed and let it go" What wonderful imagery. If only we could do this in reality and our wandering hearts could meet up with our souls for a moonlight dance. Lovely! "Theres no posession, just obsession and growing depression" |

Nancy~ Thank you kindly, your warm smiles are much appreciated. Duncan~ I think you have me confused with someone else, that would be "Clementine" Thank you for being here and putting up with my voice. Hey aujussy~ thanks for your nice reply, you flatter me. Michele~ Renewal, yes that's it! thank you girlie~ Helen~ So happy you stopped by to read, thank you always. Martie~ It's been a long time coming, and so worth the stumbling. You know what I mean. Hugs you~ TD~ Oh thanks, that's a nice compliment, smiling back at you Kathleen~ Hi ice~ I suppose the river has a double meaning, as it continues on in spite of the elements. Thank you so much for reading me. Dixie~ Ah come on, take a walk with me, and smile sweetie. Kim~ Nice to have you here, and thank you for the moon dance image. Hmmm, I'm liking that. |

Lori -- enjoyed your viewpoint! This brought a memory back to me of Joan Baez' Tumbleweed. Do you remember that song? I loved it, though it was somewhat sadder. ........jo |

Hi JM~ That's a mighty fine reply and I thank you kindly for stopping by. You're sweet! Thanks Dave~ Much obliged! Dunc~ That's not true, it's just that I don't get into my cowgirl heart mode very often. Kahlil~ Always a pleasure to hear from you ma'am. Thanks iliana~ That song hit a nerve~ "Once I pulled all my roots free I became a slave to the wind, a slave to the wind." It's so true, it's easier once we learn to just go with it. Thanks, you~ jwesley~ How kind of you to say so, you humble me in the nicest way. Thank you very much. |
