Doorbell I love the sound, the ding-dong chime That warms a moment left in time Then leaves a silence to reflect On who it is you didn’t expect The warm and resonating peals Unwrap the heart to what it feels Perhaps a package from afar Perhaps a dream from dreamer’s star Bouquets of flowers just for you Or else a friend who’s passing through Perhaps a grandson reaching high To hear that ringing lullaby A little chime, a sudden flush The sound of ruby feathered thrush A whisper of a passing breeze The hymn of spring among the leaves A doorbell is a song so dear From someone’s touch that begs you near For just a moment, let it ring And listen to your spirit sing Elizabeth Santos |

Elizabeth, only you could create such an endearing reflection on the possible moods of anticipation created by the ring of a doorbell....This is clever and so musically inclined..... Love it! Eric Ain't doin nothin at all |

This is wonderful Elizabeth...really it is... smiling M Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder. |

THank you all so very much. It just so happens that my doorbell rang this afternoon, and there was a lovely bouquet of yellows and lavenders, tulips, day lillies, etc, a splash of color to brighten an otherwise dreary day, a springtime prelude in my living room, and it lifted my doorbell chimes to a much higher level. THank you Martie Such a wonderful surprise Hugs to all Liz |
