Winter's Wake

Dusky profiles standing asleep,
Last through biting cold while waiting,
For sunshine once again to sweep,
O'er the page thus annotating,
The inscription once carved in stone,
That claims here's the North Temperate Zone

The frigid frost must at last flee,
And let the sensuous leaves lift,
Children chatter with joyous glee,
And in open spaces hearts drift,
Though bundled in our best booties,
We know springs oncoming beauties.

We're betrothed to torrid heat,
Pleasant soirees and fervent play,
Showers of summer sounds complete,
Our flowers of sweet disarray,
Soon our beloved green will frolic,
In the leaves where Sol would rollick.

Loving laughter will land on lawns,
And our thoughts will turn to tall tales,
While the wind whispers of the dawns,
Which will blaze for us grand new trails,
First we must entomb the dead hand,
Of winter as time doth demand.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Wonderful write Kevin!
Just a few days till spring..
but ole man winter if giving us one last shot!
Six inches of snow tday!
I am not a happy camper.
Hugs YOU!

it is a song that rises from a bleeding wound
...or a smiling mouth.

In a few short months, 120 will seem a tad warm...for now?  I will hold on to this, to read during the warm of summer...

So good, this.
