I received a letter from my family in the states a couple of days ago, about my father.
He is critically ill, and not expected to recover.
At this time, my heart is sad, but I know he'd want me to remember the good and funny times we shared,
and in turn to share them with my friends.

So, Dad, this one is for you....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I saw you in my sleep last night
Your hand held out, your smile so bright
But you were out of reach for me to touch
I woke up thinking just of you
The things you showed me how to do
And hope you know I love you very much...
Though time has passed and many miles
I’m still your girl, my Father’s child
You’re with me in my thoughts and memories
Like when your barber cut my hair
I sat so proud up in that chair
But I don’t think that Mother was too pleased!
Remember, Dad, the little girl
Who loved to spin with you and twirl?
On roller skates, we danced like King and Queen
You told me then how life’s a dance
All full of rhythms, turns, and chance
And someday I would find my special dream...
It all worked out, the good, the bad
I just wish I could tell you, Dad
Your time is running out, and we both know
That some things never need be said
They’re deep within our hearts instead
And kept forever, where our spirits go...
My father’s child, yes, I am one
Was born a daughter, not a son
I’ll cherish every moment that we had
It’s very hard, this letting go
But in my heart I guess I know
You’ll always be here with me
...Thank you, Dad...
This verse really made the tears flow - for so many reasons.
My heart goes out to you Sunnyone. Prayers are on the wing for your dear father.
Sunny:
A beautiful memory is what you will have and to hold close to your heart.  It brought back many memories that I have tucked away of my Dad. Big hugs to you.
Hello, my dear friends...
I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing this time with me, and for all of your love and support.  You are each and every one so much appreciated, and I know my Dad will feel the love, too.  I guess that when it comes right down to it, we all share the sorrow of losing, but if we can share with such good friends, somehow it makes it a bit easier.
Thank you again...love from me to you...~S~
