The Burning Truth

I once felt that emotion
the kind that keeps the skin on edge
needing the touch of

But conclusions have followed
through the open door, dulling
the intense state that would arrive
had you been there

My non-life becomes overwhelming,
the burning truth...every morning,
as eyes watch the beginning of a "desire
to slowly mend an emotion,"

feeling the only heat
that is...

Why do I find myself picking up your words

I would need heat proof gloves to reply

Luckily

Dave

The Burning Truth

I once felt that emotion
the kind that keeps the skin on edge
needing the touch of

That blinding flashing nervous thunderstorm of lightning

But conclusions have followed
through the open door, dulling
the intense state that would arrive
had you been there

takeaway in your hand
to serve
at my table

My non-life becomes overwhelming,
the burning truth...every morning,
as eyes watch the beginning of a "desire
to slowly mend an emotion,"
feeling the only heat
that is...

as twisting and turning
yet again

I throw the bed back
and lie in dreams

Well done Maureen...and a perfect response!
Hugs~

it is a song that rises from a bleeding wound
...or a smiling mouth.

Dear Maureen, you and Dave are duetting so lovingly ..... understanding and caring is the result.... helping "the burning truth" to cool down maybe.
Love and hugs. Margherita

Maureen

Love the scenes you present so visibly entwined with emotion....As you always have.
