Earlier, breaks dawn these days,
Sun passes higher, slower, lingers
Grazing longer on pastures it crosses
-over (consuming night fell snow like fodder)
Flake by flake, by ten...its eaten away.

But I see the winter stays with us,
Brooding in day under wings of conifers;
In ice crystal duff, it hides in shadows,
Away from the heat of the sun.

I must not rush time that is given,
By conger or curse, beg speed increase
Insisting it haste to take away longings,
For winters-desist...demand it stop,
Make it be over.
*
Embracing the ides that bring shallow snow,
And winds that tighten kite strings;
I glee, to see twine peeling from spools
And sleepy-squills, rising from surfaces
(Among dull blades of jonquils)
Both short in protrudence..
*
I  accept why the cold stays, and purpose,
See health in blood-rouged checks of former
Winter pent, adults and children (players)
On stages in the theater given...
Do not wish the clock race, or heat
That would ache, brief lives of spring flowers,
Or beg calm-winds that make(sad)the kite flyers.

(smiles) Though I love the winter as I believe each season brings blessings, I love the spring an infinite times over, LOL! (big angel hugs) I suppose it's because spring is synonymous to birth, youth, innocence, born again, happiness, song, color and magic, the most beautiful blessings to me! (sigh) Yay, time to run outside and do happy robin dance, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing!
