Cast aside The fetid real that you ride, Leave your soul, Leave in whole, Move as just drab skin and bone, All alone. She once had More lasting happy than sad, Once was dreams Plans and schemes, Life carried in a diamond ring, Now nothing. Long ago, She walked to stores in the light A somewhere Here or there, Seeing people and places she did know, Goes places Sees faces Talking about a future bright Long ago. Now pipe dreams Nothing as bad as it seems, Go senseless Defenseless Brutalized to emotionless mute screams Standing there In nowhere, Paid and paying empty dreams, The pipe deems. With blank stare Lost in middle of nowhere Wandering Where feet bring There is no one else that’s there That will care. In sorrow Beside a broken window Finds shadow. In a puff of smoke. Good morning! Hey, the bad stuff doesn't last forever, but the good stuff does. I liked your poem. I hope you and yours are well. Take care, Sadelite [This message has been edited by Sadelite (03-09-2004 12:33 PM).] |

Oh Gloomy, darlin', I felt this one.. When I was 18 and getting married, I thought I was going to be happy forever... and when I awoke to find myself in a big mess..for a long time I was in the shadows... See what you do to me? |
